Music festivals have become more and more popular in Romania, drawing in hundreds of thousands of people every year. Tourism is highly influenced by the organization of such festivals due to high demand of accommodation, restaurants, transportation.
Among the most popular festivals, we find Untold, Electric Castle, Neversea.
Untold was organized in Romania for the first time in 2015, when it won the award for the best European festival. At the same time, the coordinators thought about a genuine Promotional campaign entitled ”Pay with Blood”, within which the blood donors would receive free festival tickets on the spot. The initiative was noticed abroad due to the reference to Transylvania, Vlad Țepeș and vampires.
Cluj has hosted all 4 editions of the festival which gathered an average of 70.000 people a day, and among the artists who went on stage are Black Eyed Peas, Moonlight Breakfast, The Chainsmokers, Tiesto, Jason Derulo, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack.
Electric Castle, another great Romanian festival, also organized in Cluj county, brings international artists such as Damian Marley, JP Cooper, San Holo.
The old Banffy castle has been the home for Electric Castle during the 5 editions. By mixing technology with an electronic musical line and the medieval landscape, Electric Castle redefines the way by which people interact with a music festival, creating borders between electronic music and reggae.
Neversea, the greatest beach music festival in Romania, has gathered over 500.000 spectators in just 2 years. Armin van Buuren, Steve Angello, Aloe Blacc are only the top of the list of the approximately 300 artists who went on stage. The sand, the sea, the sunrise, the rhythm of the favourite track make you want to stay there forever.
Summer is created to live the experiences that we recount during winter. Festivals are created to make friendships with different people coming from all over the globe and to live unforgettable moments.
